Kurt, Trisha, Michael and Brett created such a comfortable environment to work in. She was supported and challenged and learned so much about herself as a performer in just one week. BKA also gave the kids the opportunity to step out of the studio for a little bit and give back to the community.

Seeking children agesbetween 51" - 57" in height, who can sing, dance and act to play the African lion cubs Simba and Nala. We encourage children of all backgrounds to attend. No performance experience necessary. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Parents or guardians must remain at the audition site at all times. Please be prepared to wait. You must be warmed up and ready by the start time.

After countless auditions, the understanding that this is not the first or last audition of their lives takes a lot of the pressure off. Also, actors begin going in for the same casting directors regularly, which means they like you, so you develop a rapport and you can show up, walk in, and do your best work.

There are also those who show too much desperation, as if this is the only job in the world. Most likely, your first audition for a Broadway musical will be a prescreen. This is a chance for the casting director, associate, or assistant to get the chance to know you and your work. There will be an accompanist in the room, so be clear and concise about the tempo of your song, any cuts, repeats, etc.

There may also be a reader in the room, so use them! Callbacks can be overwhelming. Broadway shows nowadays have a lot of producers, most of whom will be in the room for final rounds we once had 12 producers in the room. Alongside the producers will be the director, music director, casting director, writers composer, lyricist, and book writerchoreographer, accompanist, reader sand any assistants or associates of the aforementioned.

We will have some paperwork for you to fill out that we will email you the day before, but you can also fill it out at the office. For your song, you should bring music. This can be your own sheet music in a 3-ring binder for Broadway Bounds piano accompanist, or you can bring a CD or MP3 to sing along with.

You can also sing without accompaniment. I could use more help preparing, who do I talk to? Melina is our fantastic Musical Director who does one on one audition prep lessons, if you have any questions or want to practice, you can contact her directly at melina broadwaybound. All Auditions are held at our studios at University Heights Center. Remember to show up 15 minutes beforehand to fill out paperwork.

The kids practice for about 3 months. They will be performing from April 24th to May 3rd. Rehearsals are twice a week from to each day. Please keep in mind that these schedules change every season based on what our families request. There are two to three Saturday rehearsals but we let you know those dates once rehearsals begin. We may ask some clarifying questions or ask if conflicts can change after your child auditions to give them the best role possible.

We do this for every one of the almost two hundred kids who come in every season. They will be performing from May 28th to June 14th. They will be performing from May 8th to 17th. Please note: tuition payments, once received by Broadway Bound, are non-refundable. We ask for the first installment at auditions to ensure commitment to the production, regardless of role.
